Trauma Healing with Hypnotherapy & Coaching

Woman standing on a pier looking content following her hypnosis and life coaching session in Matlock

Gentle, trauma-informed support. Available in-person in Winnipeg and Matlock, Manitoba

Many people who reach this page are thoughtful, self-aware, and capable — and yet they notice patterns that don’t shift, triggers that surprise them, or emotional responses that feel “stuck.”

Even when you understand why these patterns exist, insight alone often doesn’t change how they feel in your body or in your relationships. That’s because much of this is held in the nervous system, outside of conscious thought.

Here, you’re in a space where these experiences are recognized without judgment — and where you can explore a path toward gentle change, at your own pace.

Understanding trauma differently

When we say “trauma,” it doesn’t always mean a single dramatic event. It can also mean experiences that were ongoing, subtle, or relational — times when safety, attunement, or support were inconsistent or missing.

Many of these experiences don’t stand out as “trauma” at the time, but they quietly shape how the nervous system learns to respond — to stress, closeness, uncertainty, and even rest.

Recognizing this is not about labeling or fixing yourself. It’s about understanding why patterns persist and how change can happen in a safe, gradual way.

How this work helps

In my practice, we focus on creating experiences that allow the nervous system to feel safer and steadier — without forcing change or pushing beyond your comfort.

Hypnotherapy, used in a trauma-informed and collaborative way, is a calm, guided process. You remain aware and in control, and we work at a pace that feels safe and respectful. Sessions often help people feel:

  • Calmer and more grounded
  • More connected to their own experience
  • Ready to soften long-held patterns over time

This work is not only for people in crisis — it’s for anyone who wants to feel more at home in themselves, understand their patterns, and gently move toward change.

What to expect

A session typically involves:

Conversation – We talk about what you’re noticing, what feels important, and your goals.

Guided hypnotherapy – A calm, focused state that helps the body and mind respond safely.

Coaching conversation and gentle integration – Leaving the session feeling more grounded, with shifts that unfold naturally.

You are always in control. Nothing is forced. You can pause, speak, or stop at any time.

Client Testimonial

After completing two active military tours, I was struggling with persistent PTSD symptoms. I attended eight hypnotherapy sessions with Tannis in Matlock, which helped soften the intensity of difficult memories. I also learned practical techniques to calm my mind and regulate my nervous system. ~ Don R., Winnipeg
